  • Faster metabolism
  • Diminished feeling of hunger
  • Increase in muscle mass
  • Reduced blood sugar levels
  • Increased sensitivity to insulin
  • Some reversal of Type 2 diabetes (One study found complete reversal in 60% of participants after one year)
  • Potential to improve neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, autism, glioblastoma and brain cancer.

Cons:

For the first few days you might experience a keto flu”  – poor energy and mental function, hunger, sleep issues, decreased physical performance, or digestive discomfort. There is a chance that you will also develop a slight water and mineral imbalance. This can be tackled by taking supplements of potassium, magnesium and sodium. This diet can be incredibly dangerous for CHILDREN and for adults with EATING DISORDERS, LOW WEIGHT OR METABOLIC ISSUES. There is not enough information to classify the keto diet as safe or unsafe in the long run, therefore it requires regular medical check ups.

Tea Cleanse

Detoxification (detox) teas are a blend of tea leaves with herbs and other ingredients that are believed to support your liver’s natural process of detoxification. Most commonly used tea blends include green, black, or oolong tea leaves, peppermint, ginger, yerba mate, and senna leaves.

Pros:

  • Weight loss
  • Flatter stomach – de-bloating
  • Increased source of antioxidants
  • Removal of free radicals, and environmental toxins
  • Promotion of liver and digestive system function

Cons:

  • Prevention.com states that there is no convincing evidence to suggest that available detox teas lead to fat burning or body cleaning
  • Detox tea providers are not required to prove that their teas fulfill their claimed purpose
  • Short-lived experience of benefits
  • Initially might experience cramping and/or diarrhea
  • Requires an increased intake of liquids

The common theme with the currently trending diets is going back to the basics – only natural, wholesome foods and liquids should enter your body! And excess is never good. Our bodies need time to adjust to changes, so give your diet a fair change and allow your body to go through the transition period for a few days.
