raw vegan protein balls

Spring Hill Weight Loss  – These protein balls are absolutely delicious. The flavor is so rich and chocolatey, it’s hard to believe they’re guilt-free. According to our Hernando Beach Dietitian, though, this is one of the healthiest ‘desserts’ you can have! If you have a sweet tooth or want  a much-needed energy and protein boost, this recipe is for you!

NOTE: for this recipe, you will need a blender or a food processor

Ingredients:

1 cup of raw rolled oats (even better if you can get your hands on gluten-free ones!)

2 tablespoons of unsalted peanut butter (make sure it has no added oils, salt or sugar – the label should only read ‘peanuts’)

2 tablespoons of tahini (i.e., sesame seed butter. If you have trouble finding it, replace it with 2 more tablespoons of peanut butter, or any other nut butter)

A handful of dried, pitted dates, soaked for a few minutes in boiling water

1 tablespoon of raw unsweetened cocoa powder

½ cup of dried goji berries

1 tablespoon of flaxseeds

1 tablespoon of raw honey (optional)

Put all ingredients in the food processor or blender and process until you get a well-blended, semi-smooth texture. If the mixture is too dry, add a tablespoon or two of water. Roll the ‘dough’ into balls (or use an ice-cream scoop) and put them in the fridge to set. After an hour or two, they are ready to enjoy!
